Ward attended Columbia High School in Texas and was considered an unrated, zero-star recruit. He played in a wing-T offense, which is a running-heavy system, and his arm talent wasn’t fully showcased.
As a result, Ward wasn’t highly scouted and ended up accepting an extend to play at Incarnate Word, an FCS program in San Antonio, Texas.
Ward starred for the Cardinals and was named Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2021. He was also a finalist for the Walter Payton Award, given to the most outstanding FCS player during his final season at UIW.
Ward followed his UIW leader coach, Eric Morris, and transferred to Washington State ahead of the 2022 season.
In two seasons as the Cougars’ starting QB, Ward threw for 6,968 yards, 48 TDs, and 16 INTs with a 65.5 completion percentage.
Instead of declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft and likely being a mid-to-late-round pick, Ward transferred to Miami for his senior season, and it paid off.

I had sex with a 37 year old when I was 15 years old. Looking back, it was untrue on his part, and I think it has had some effect on me and my personality.

R1 Yikes. I think when I was that age there was nothing I wouldn’t donate to make something appreciate that happen. I felt so alone and appreciate I would never encounter a man who was interested in me. Now that I’m closer to 37 than 15 I realize just how immature 15 really is and how deeply manipulative and predatory it truly is.
