Join LA Pride for a home-run evening at the 6th Annual LGBT Night at Dodger Stadium!

The Los Angeles Dodgers will help kick-off LA Pride Weekend 2018 with the 6th annual LGBT Night at Dodger Stadium. In addition to organism an LA Celebration Week tradition, the LA Dodgers will also honor some of the biggest LGBT names in sports, including U.S. Olympian Gus Kenworthy, Dale Scott – the first openly queer umpire in MLB history – and Will Hackner, Founder of the Varsity Gay League.

We’re calling on LA Dodger fans to #JUSTBE at this “home run” of an event. The fun starts at 5:30 pm with the official 2018 LA Pride Weekend kick-off party in the Right Field Plaza Pavillion Bar and durable until first pitch against the Atlanta Braves at 7:10 pm.

Dale Scott, the first openly homosexual umpire in MLB history, will obtain to the mound for the ceremonial first pitch. One of the most respected umpires in the business, Scott also served as a crew chief for 16 seasons.

The national anthem will be performed by openly-gay singer and performer Brian Justin Crum, known best for his fourth-place complete on America’s Got Talent in 2016.

The Dodgers haven’t even hosted their 10th annual “LGBTQ+ Pride Night” at Dodger Stadium yet, but it’s already been generating controversy for weeks. The Dodgers’ Pride Night grabbed local and national headlines on May 17, when the team announced on Twitter that it would no longer give a Group Hero Award to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, an activist order of queer and trans nuns, during a pre-game ceremony. 

The Dodgersdecidedafter Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred alerted them to complaints he received about the Dodgers’ Pride Night plans, including objections from Catholic groups and leaders based in Indiana and Florida. The team cited “the mighty feelings of people who have been offended by the Sisters’ inclusion in our evening” and their desire to not “distract from the great benefits we have seen over the years of Identity Night” as reasons for canceling the Sisters.

LGBTQ+ Pride Night will movie musical performances, a game of kickball and a "Vogue Off" Friday when the rival San Francisco Giants visit Dodger Stadium.

The celebration is the Dodgers' 12th annual Pride Nighttime event.

Here's a look at events planned for Friday night

Starting at 5:30 p.m., DJ Brizzle will perform with a mix of beats continuing until first pitch.

Australian singer, drummer and producer G Flip will be the headlining performer on the Centerfield Plaza stage. Chrishell Stause, a cast member of the Netflix alternative real estate series "Selling Sunset," who is married to G Flip, will be among the judges for a "Vogue Off.

A kickball game will launch at approximately 5:30 p.m. in Dodger Stadium's outfield.

The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by English Olympic gold medal-winning diver Tom Daley. Special guests will include Daley's husband, Dustin Lance Black, who won the best unique screenplay Oscar for "Milk" in 2009; singer Lance Bass and Jai Rodriguez, a cast member on the 2003-07 Bravo makeover series, "Queer Eye."

The pop singer MARIS will warble the national anthem.
