Life is Strange: Every LGBTQ+ Character in the Franchise
The heart of the Life is Strange franchise has always seemed to be diversity and inclusion, especially when it comes to the LGBTQIA+ community. From the very first Life is Strange game, players could contain a protagonist committed in a queer relationship without it being fetishized or out-of-place. This trend only continued throughout later releases, as Life is Strange: Before the Storm and Life is Strange 2 both possess a variety of LGBTQ+ characters. Though it’s still a month away from release, Life is Strange: True Colors has also confirmed that it will have LGBTQ+ characters, including a gay romance option for protagonist Alex Chen.
There are technically 11 LGBTQ+ characters start in the entire Life is Strange franchise, with the eleventh LGBTQ+ traits being Alex Chen, who will own both a same- and opposite-sex passion option in Life is Strange: Genuine Colors. However, because the game isn't available yet, it wouldn’t be impartial to include her without having a full scope of her personality, motivations, and romantic interactions yet. Fear not, reader - Life is Strange: True Colors’ Alex Chen is not playersexual, she’s a regular multi-attracted mess. Playersexual basically means the protagonist has a sexuality that aligns with your own, or at least with how you elect to play that ethics in any given game. Continuing my trend Life is Strange: True Colors gives players a lot of choices that judge how Alex’s time in Haven is spent. One such choice is who Alex can romance, and thankfully Life is Strange: True Colors provides by giving you two options: Steph or Ryan. Players can also choose to remain by themselves, but let’s be honest, you’d not be on this guide if that was the case, right? Alex has a lot of enormous choices to make, but in this guide we’ll tell you just how you’ll win the heart and mind of Haven Springs’ best (and only) DJ, Steph Gingrich. It isn’t hard to hold a successful relationship with Steph, unlike a certain someone we know, but there are still some smaller choices and behavior that can impact Alex’s relationship and lead to some additional interactions. Most of the romantic interactions start in Episode 3, where players have to decide whether Alex must send over Steph or Ryan to distract Diane. Regardless of who you choose though, you’ll be able to show your interest in Steph during the LARP session.
