All of the Denver Queer Bars

Trade

Trade is located off Santa Fe, just off 6th Ave, at the edge of the art district. A well-established leather and fetish bar, Trade is highly ranked for its sprawling floor schedule and decadent events. The interior is dimly lit with ample open territory and some seating. My favorite place is the patio, which has a dedicated bar for events and weekends. The patio is covered and has been recently extended doubling the space. Their events range from show tunes on Wednesdays to gear nights where everybody is welcome to show off their toys. They carry out not have a kitchen but there is a stellar black metal pizzeria across the street and, on weekends an astounding taco truck stands ready to take your order.

#Vybe

Vybe is located on Broadway near 10th Ave. Vybe recently celebrated its 5th anniversary and in that time they have built a name for themselves. The inside is massive with a bar running the entire length of the room. The main area is littered with smaller tables and seats, this comes in handy for their weekly events and shows. Go out the back door and you’ll find a monumental upper balcony, and bring down patio complete with a stage. This is my favorite pl

Denverites looking for LGBTQ+ bars have to be willing to roam, since the city’s cultural scene is not always matched by the amount or concentration of LGBTQ+ clubs.

Over the last year or so we’ve lost a rare spots, including Fusions, Lucid, and the 3 Kilts Tavern, so the remaining names are all the more important. But some newer spots such as Buddies on East Colfax Avenue are hanging on despite rising rents and other challenges restaurateurs face.

In that spirit, here’s a quick roundup for Identity festival month and ahead of Denver PrideFest 2024, taking place June 22-23 in Civic Center park.

Tracks Denver

Indisputably Denver’s largest and most important LGBTQ+ club, the current incarnation in the River North Art District has over the last 18 years made its name with national-quality drag performances, touring artists and raucous, themed parties. Besides nurturing Denver-based “RuPaul’s Drag Race” winners such as Yvie Oddly and recent Willow Pill, it’s got open mics and hip-hop nights (18 and up) and three of the best dance floors and DJ setu

Had the chance to explore Close End Sports Bar (love a good play on words moment) to grab the game and had a great time. This spot is very laidback and relaxed, so it's great if you crave to be in a queer and inclusive..

Although any bar in Denver are accepting, there’s something distinct about visiting a local LGBTQ+ lock or club and diving into The Mile High City’s queer community. They are the spots where you recognize you’ll be surrounded by like-minded, pleasurable and eccentric people. And luckily for us, there are plenty of Queer nightlife options to choose from, no matter your taste.

Dancing Queens (and Kings) - Dance Bars and Clubs

For those who want to bust out their dancing shoes and cut a rug to remixes of today’s top hits, you’ll want to hit one of the top sway bars in the city—X Bar, Tracks, Blush & Blu, or Charlie’s.

X Prevent is a staple for Denver Diverse folks. Known for its inclusivity towards both the gender non-conforming and straight communities, X Bar has been around for seven years and has been an important staple of Denver for just as long.

“X Prevent is well recognizable for the pink flamingos during self-acceptance, and they are everywhere,” explained Cindy Alix, general manager at X Exclude. “We also provide them away and have the biggest pink flamingo around on our float.  We have a very special float this year, so we are looking forward to the
